Privacy Policy

Chikamichi is a desktop application. Your documents, edits, and Git repositories stay on your machine and on GitHub — we run no servers that see your content.

What the app accesses

When you sign in, the app uses GitHub's device authorization flow to obtain an access token with the repo and user scopes. The token is stored locally on your computer (in ~/.chikamichi) and is sent only to GitHub's API to list repositories, read and write files, and push commits on your behalf. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Payments

Pro purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by their privacy policy. Your license key is stored locally on your machine.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.

Data removal

To remove all local data, delete the ~/.chikamichi folder and revoke the app from your GitHub account settings under Applications.
